The District salary schedule is designed to encourage professional growth. It is the District's belief that professional growth should be a planned program.
All hours to be accepted for advancement on the schedule must show promise of improving the teacher's instructional service to the students of the District.
All persons requesting approval of semester hours for professional growth credit must use the District form "Request for Approval of Academic Credit." Information needed is the course number, name of subject, number of semester hours, the college or university in which the course will be taken, and a description of the course. All persons planning to enter a masters degree program must submit a Masters Degree Program Plan Review for approval.
"Request for Approval of Academic Credit" forms are available in school offices. Completed forms should be given to the teacher at the school serving on the professional growth committee.
It is the responsibility of the professional growth committee to evaluate all requests and make recommendations concerning each according to its merits. One (1) teacher and one (1) District office committee member must approve the request for the teacher to receive professional growth credit.
